Matthias is walking down the sidewalk, watching as the sky dims from deep blue to a purple dusk. The impending evening is chilly, and as he gets further from the main part of the city the amount of people that pass him become fewer and fewer.

Without sound or warning, the tranquil night transforms right before Matthias' eyes. An inky darkness bleeds into the air, the edges billowing like smoke. But it isn't, there isn't texture or scent, it's just black. He spins around, but the shadow has consumed him and it's all he can see in every direction. Matthias's fists clench at his sides.

"What is this?" His voice is an animal growl as he tries to get his bearings.
